Over the Hill

Salut tout le monde! 

I have officially been a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for an entire year! It still feels somewhat surreal, but at the same time it does feel like I've been doing this for a while haha I can honestly say that this has been the most rewarding year of my entire life. Looking back I can see that I have changed a lot, and thankfully it's all been for the better. Since being set apart as a missionary, I have felt a sense of purpose that has truly changed my life. 

I have come to know the Savior in a much more personal way, and I know without a shadow of a doubt that this is His church! I know that Joseph Smith truly was a prophet of God, and I have to know that as I have read the Book of Mormon and studied about his life. 

I wish I had more time to write, but our district (which consists of the only four missionaries in all of New Brunswick) met up and visited a really amazing place called Hopewell Rocks! It has some of the highest tides in the world, and we were able to walk on the seafloor and admire some amazing rock formations! I have a strong testimony that there is a Supreme Creator and that He truly is our loving Heavenly Father. It always amazes me to see just how many things He has given us for the express purpose of finding joy! 

This week we spent a lot of time getting to know the members here, and they are so wonderful! We got to help with a move and that was also a good time - I always love service! The biggest highlight from this week though was, of course, General Conference! For those of you who may not know, General Conference is a really amazing opportunity we have every six months to hear from the leaders of our church. It is amazing to hear from inspired men and women who are truly called of God. In today's world it is so wonderful to have leaders that you can trust to teach "pure truth!" 

I have really been seeking the Lord's guidance as I continue to adjust to life in a new country and a new mission, but I'll grateful for the messages I heard that have reminded me that through faith I can receive the answers and direction I need - and I know that the same is true for each of you!
